Question 1

How natural does the AI sound?

Accepted Answer

Our AI is built on the latest AI voice technology. It sounds natural and conversational, not like the robotic text-to-speech you might have heard before. Clear, warm, and easy to understand.

Question 2

How long does setup take?

Accepted Answer

About 10 minutes to set up. A mobile phone forwards with a short dial code; some landlines need a call to your phone company, which can take a little longer.

Question 3

Can I keep my existing phone number?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You forward calls from your existing number to your ProFront number, so customers keep calling the number they know. Landlines forward too, through your phone company. Forwarding moves calls, not texts: customers who text reach ProFront at your ProFront number.

Question 4

Do I need any technical skills?

Accepted Answer

Not at all. Just enter your business information, customize your AI receptionist, and you're live. No coding, no IT team, no technical setup required.

Question 5

Can I try it before paying?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Request a free demo call and hear your AI receptionist handle a real conversation about your business. No credit card required. ProFront starts answering your own calls once you pick a paid plan; there is no free trial.

Question 6

Will my callers know they are talking to an AI?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every call opens with your receptionist introducing itself as your AI receptionist. We never pretend it is a person, and that cannot be switched off.

Question 7

How does the website chat widget work?

Accepted Answer

Add one line of code to your website and visitors can chat with your AI instantly. It knows everything about your business, including hours, services, and FAQs, just like the phone AI. You can customize colors and branding to match your site.

Question 8

Can customers text my business number?

Accepted Answer

Yes, when they text your ProFront number. Your AI replies right away with the same knowledge it uses on calls. Forwarding your existing number moves calls, not texts, so give customers who like to text your ProFront number.

Question 9

What if a caller has a complex question?

Accepted Answer

If the AI doesn't have the answer in your FAQs, it gracefully takes a detailed message including what the caller needs. You get all the context to call them back.

Question 10

What counts toward my minutes?

Accepted Answer

Only actual conversation time. Ringing and hold time don't count. Most calls are 2-3 minutes.

Question 11

Do you integrate with my CRM?

Accepted Answer

Not yet, but every call notification includes all the details you need. Many customers simply forward the email or copy the info.

Question 12

Can I customize what my AI says?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Add your FAQs, business details, services, and tone preferences through the dashboard. Your AI receptionist learns your business and responds accordingly.

Question 13

How do I get notified about calls?

Accepted Answer

After every call you get a text with who called and a link to the details, and an email with a short summary of what they wanted.

Question 14

Can I listen to call recordings?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every call gets a transcript in your dashboard (and a written summary on higher plans), kept for up to 365 days. The audio recording itself is stored by our voice provider, not by us, and follows their own shorter retention window, so it may no longer be available to play back once that window passes.

Question 15

Is there a contract?

Accepted Answer

You choose monthly or annual billing, and you can cancel anytime from your billing settings. Your plan stays active through the end of the period you have paid for, and a period that has begun is not refunded.

Question 16

What happens when I run out of minutes?

Accepted Answer

We email you when you have used 80% of your included minutes, and again at 100%. After that, extra minutes and messages bill at your plan's rates (listed in the pricing comparison), or you can move to a bigger plan. By default your AI receptionist keeps answering and the extra use is billed. If you have switched your overage setting to a hard block, calls go to a short voicemail-style message once your included minutes are used, and new text and chat conversations are declined (a text gets a reply pointing the customer to call you) until your next billing period starts or you change the setting.

Question 17

Can I change plans later?

Accepted Answer

Yes, upgrade or downgrade anytime. Changes take effect on your next billing cycle with no penalties or fees.

Question 18

What payment methods do you accept?

Accepted Answer

All major credit and debit cards through Stripe. Your payment information is securely processed and never stored on our servers.

Question 19

What countries do you support?

Accepted Answer

US at launch. International support is on our roadmap.

Question 20

Are there industries you don't support?

Accepted Answer

ProFront works for virtually any service-based business that takes customer calls. We feature a few examples, and our AI adapts to many more. The exception is chiropractic, healthcare, mental health and pharmacy: ProFront is not HIPAA compliant, so we cannot serve businesses handling protected health information. If you're unsure whether your industry qualifies, contact us.

Question 21

Are my calls recorded? Who can access them?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Transcripts and summaries are private to your account and kept in your dashboard for up to 365 days. The audio itself is held by our voice provider, not by us, under their own retention window, so it may not always be available to play back. Our team does not access your calls except when you ask for support or when the law requires it, and any such access is recorded.

Question 22

How is my business data protected?

Accepted Answer

All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We share data only with the service providers that run the platform for you, such as hosting, telephony, and payment processing, under contracts that restrict how they can use it. See our subprocessor list for the full picture. We never sell your data or share it for advertising.
